Who it's for: pupils and students who have missed school
Many students who find maths difficult, do so because they have missed periods of work at school through illness or because of needing to change school when the family moves.
While a time away from school might mean that a student doesn’t learn about a specific set of events in history, this does not prevent the student carrying on learning history, nor does it stop the student going back and reading up on the period of history that was missed.
However in maths it is different. If you imagine being taught about the division of fractions, without having done any lessons on fractions, you will realise how impossible the task is.
Maths, more than any other subject is sequential, and so students who have missed lessons usually find it impossible to go back and gain that knowledge, and then progress again.
By far the most efficient way of overcoming this problem is to use one-to-one on line tuition on the areas which were covered in the missed lessons. You will then be able to pick up the relevant information very quickly, and soon be back on track with the rest of the class.
If you have missed a long period of schooling, the one-to-one sessions can be continued for as long as required, since the ConquerMaths program covers the whole of the key stages 3 and 4 curriculum.
